Department of Physics & Electronics (UG)
Legacy
Established as a full-fledged department right from the inception of the college in the year 1968, Department of Physics has grown leaps and bounds over the years.
Initially at undergraduate level - B.Sc MPC and Intermediate with MPC and BPC was offered.
Later MPE ( Maths, Physics & Electronics ) and MPG ( Maths, Physics & Geology ) combinations were also introduced. With the introduction of IT, two new courses namely MPCs and MECs were started.
As per latest CBCS pattern, the department offers 12 theory papers along with associated practicals papers, SEC & GE spread over three years and divided into six semesters.
Academics
Department has well experienced teaching faculties with a Ph.D. and M.Phil qualifications.
Equipped with state of the art labs catering to the Physics and Electronics students.
Labs related to Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Optics, Electro-Magnetism, Modern Physics & Basic Electronics, Basic & Advanced Electronics, Computer/simulation, include latest experiments involving Lasers, Optical bench, Microprocessor 8085 operating kit & Microcontroller 8051 operating kit.
Seminar library stocked with 165 reference books also exists.

Department regularly organizes seminars, workshops, guest lectures, educational tours to R&D institutes and conducts co-curricular activities like quiz, essay writing, and Physics Carnival - ANVESHAN etc.
More than 10 research publications in national and international journals and proceedings.
Teachers regularly attend seminars & conferences to update their knowledge.
Industrial and Field visit for students.
Faculty are associated as member of professional societies.
Outreach programs and extension activities are held for instilling social responsibility .
Department has MoU with Amrita Institute on Virtual Labs & IoT minds.
Certificate courses on Solar Net Metering System by CPTI - a Government of Telangana funded organisation and IoT minds.
