Live Sessions

Practice! While you may be an expert in your subject, read through your presentation out loud and get familiar with the software and the flow of the meeting.

Start early to be in control of the environment and to prevent any sudden signs of nervousness.

Speak calmly without rushing. Don’t talk fast because the speed of the internet for certain students might not be enough to capture everything you are saying.

Control the noise around you and use a headset if available.

Look for opportunities to engage students with pictures, illustrations, questions, and real-life examples.

If your camera is open, stay calm and build trust with your students by talking into the camera as much as possible.

Share your screen and used a stylus and a whiteboard app whenever possible.

Pay attention to time.

Conclude your session with a brief wrap up and information about future sessions.
