Amireault, S., Godin, G., Lacombe, J., & Sabiston, C. M. (2015). Validation of the Godin-Shephard Leisure-Time Physical Activity Questionnaire classification coding system using accelerometer assessment among breast cancer survivors. Journal of Cancer Survivorship, 9(3), 532-540. doi:10.1007/s11764-015-0430-6
To improve the quality of physical activity interventions and recommendations for cancer survivors, Amireault and colleagues assessed the quality and usability of the Godin-Shephard Leisure-Time Physical Activity Questionnaire (GSLTPAQ) to be used as a classification tool for breast cancer survivors into active and insufficiently active categories. Participants wore a wrist-worn physical activity monitor and completed the GSLTPAQ. When comparing the data, the researchers concluded that the GSLTPAQ can be used to classify cancer survivors into physical activity categories based on cancer survivors’ physical activity guidelines.
