To enable people to maintain physical activity across the lifespan
In the pursuit of our mission, we identify determinants, intervention targets, and intervention techniques for maintaining physical activity. The foundation of our program of research relies on an experimental medicine approach, focusing on three key pillars:
Valid measures: testing tools for reliability and accuracy
Mechanisms of action: identifying determinants to specify intervention targets, select intervention techniques, and evaluate what makes interventions work or fail
Contextual fit: determining for whom and when targets and techniques work best
Physical activity psychology is the study of human movement and mind across a range of physical activity settings
Research Interests and Expertise: Physical activity behavior; health behavior theories, health behavior maintenance, measurement and longitudinal methods, systematic review methods and results synthesis (meta-analysis), physical activity across the life course
Our Core Values: Ambition, Commitment, Community, Respect, Rigor
