In the Satellite Image, you can see a band of clouds over the Eastern states. This is associated with a cold front moving across the region.
In the reflectivity RADAR (on the left) located in Northern Alabama, you can see a band of intense storms associated with the front.
Looking to the East of the RADAR, notice that the storm's velocity (right figure) is moving from the South to the North, the typical pre-frontal wind pattern. But to the West of the RADAR, winds are blowing West to East, typical of frontal winds.
