Introduction:
Each year, there will be selection tests for the major travel contests. Problems and solutions from ARML TST 2018 to ARML TST 2019 can be found here; check the dropdown list for the others.

Rules:
- Format
- The test usually contains 8-12 problems to be completed in 60-90 minutes.
- For the ARML TST, there will likely be 16 problems to be completed in 90 minutes.
- Problems are usually (but not necessarily) in difficulty order.
- No aids besides scratch paper and writing utensils are allowed.
- Construction
- Proposed problems will be placed into a collection and categorized as follows:
- Level
- 1: 1-10 on AMC 12
- 2: 11-15 on AMC 12
- 3: 16-20 on AMC 12
- 4: 21-25 on AMC 12, 1-8 on AIME
- 5: 9-15 on AIME
- Subject
- Algebra + Number Theory
- Combinatorics
- Geometry
- Overall Difficulty
- A typical distribution for an 8-problem test looks like 11223345.
- should be comparable to PUMaC Div B or Mandelbrot National
- The test should contain similar amounts of each level and subject.
- Each test will have at least one test-solver, who will take the test ahead of time to point out any typos. Test-solvers will earn points for every problem they solve as well as every problem which is revised significantly or replaced.
- Please email the captains if you would like to propose problems for a TST.
- Scoring
- Only answers properly marked on the answer sheet will be graded.
- Radicals and fractions should be expressed in simplest form; otherwise, credit will not be given.
- Problems which are solved by less people will be given more weight.
- Weighting System
- After the test
- Score reports and solutions will be sent via email.
- Regarding team selection, ties may be broken at the discretion of the captains.
