About FH & Our Club
What is field hockey?
Each team has 11 players on the field at one time: 1 goalkeeper and 10 field players (defenders, midfielders and attackers).
A stick is used to hit a ball along the ground into a goal cage on a soccer-sized field. Each goal counts as one point.
Only the flat side of the stick can be used to hit the ball.
The ball must be passed or dribbled using the stick; no other body part is allowed to intentionally come into contact with the ball.
Protective equipment includes shin guards and mouth guards.
