This Privacy Policy explains how Photopea (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our Android app.
Photo editing runs on your device
No account required
We do not sell personal information
No advertising SDKs
No analytics/crash SDKs in the current release
Core editing does not require uploading photos to our servers
Photos/images you select via Photo Picker, files, or camera
Exported images/PDFs you save or share
Local preferences (theme, export settings, favorites, recent projects)
Temporary cache files used while editing
On-device AI for background removal (Google ML Kit selfie segmentation)
Name, email, or phone through the App
Payment card details
Precise location
Contacts
Ad-targeting identifiers
Cloud profiles of your photo library
Camera — optional; only when you take a photo
Photos/media — mainly via system Photo Picker for selected files
Storage (older Android) — to save exports when required
Internet — may appear due to bundled libraries (e.g. ML Kit); editing is on-device and does not require uploading photos to our servers
Provide editing tools you request
Remember settings/favorites/recent projects locally
Save exports you choose (e.g. Pictures/Photopea, Downloads/Photopea)
We do not sell or rent your information and do not upload your photos to our servers for editing. If you share files through other apps, those apps’ policies apply. Google Play / ML Kit components follow Google’s terms.
Exported files stay on your device until you delete them. Clear App storage or uninstall to remove preferences/cache.

General-audience app; not directed to children under 13 (or local equivalent). We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
Editing happens on-device. Protect your device with a lock screen and keep it updated. No storage method is 100% secure.
Deny camera permission, choose which photos to open, delete exports anytime, clear app data, or uninstall.
We may update this Policy and will change the “Last updated” date. Continued use means you accept the updated Policy.
