Actually your glass on your body is allready an edit. The same for the bodytype and your camerasettings. More light, less light, more iso: it's all about effect. I think you have to ask yourself: what will you show and tell your viewers. Image your caputer in your mind, take the photograph, and adjust a little. Graphic design is a different niche, I agree.

Correctness in photography is like beauty is in the eye of the beholder . Do what you are comfortable with if you are doing photography for yourself. I use Photoshop CS3 to correct for the lens and for camera exposure where needed. I like to personalize my photos to the look I like ,after all ,I photograph what I like and see and want a record of . Comments and the number of views is only a statistic and not a reason for me to be posting photos .

I use photoshop too. There's not a specific filter I use all the time, in fact I tend to use it less and less as I go on (maybe the photos are better out of the camera, maybe I'm less bothered).

If anything I use the Camera RAW to clean the images up a bit in terms of brightness, contrast, saturation, etc. and that's pretty much it except to add a border.

I would like to think everything I photo comes out perfect the way I shoot it, but it doesn't. I mostly use Photoshop, but i keep it simple - cropping, adjusting the balance, and sometimes applying a b/w filter, but nothing too extreme. Like someone else said, I'm not in the business of graphic design. I do this because i like to capture images.

well .. i always start with lightroom since i always shoot in raw .. and then end up with Photoshop.

if you look at my photostream .. i edit my pictures a lot to an extent that i think it fits the image the best. well it's always a personal taste, but sometimes when you take pictures.. you already have the idea what it should look like when you're on your digital workflow right?

so yeah ..i edit my pictures a lot ..

For photos taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T1i, I shoot in High Quality JPEG at 4752 by 3168, then upload each photo into the Picnik site from that camera one at a time after copying onto my computer, crop the photos down to 1024 by 683, do auto exposure fixing, then saving the changes under new names and deleting the originals.

My most used software for photo editing is Adobe Photoshop CS2 9.0, but it erases the lens type used on my DSLR, and I prefer to be able to see what lens was attached in the EXIF data on my Canon photos.

Edit: I now use the Ribbet website, which is identical to the Picnik site that is no longer around. And I no longer use Photoshop as it uses a lot of memory and may have to be removed because it causes my computer to shut off. Don't blame other programs running, including the Microsoft Security Essentials that has to run all the time.
