Long story short, I had nothing to worry about. Lightroom reacts very fast to all edits, perhaps even faster than my MacBook Pro. Being able to engage with the photo more via the touchscreen was great and helped to make me feel more connected to the process. Further, though Lightroom Mobile is a good bit different from Lightroom Classic, it is much more alike than it is different, so it was not at all difficult to switch between the two. Lastly, one thing that made the experience better was the fact that the Lightroom profiles I so regularly use on my computer were also available to use on Lightroom mobile.

Madison is a mathematician turned statistician based out of Columbus, OH. He fell back in love with film years ago while living in Charleston, SC and hasn't looked back since. In early 2019 he started a website about film photography.

I've been using Lightroom on my iPad as my sole image editing software for about 4 years now. It was great when it first launched and has gotten exponentially better as time goes on. One standout feature for me, that was not mentioned in the above article, is the fact that all your images sync through Creative Cloud. Like the author, I too have used Lightroom and my iPad Pro when traveling, and being able to import a full days shooting, then cull and edit on my iPad with all edits for my photos already waiting for me on my desktop at home was the ultimate game changer.

I went fully mobile with an iPad Pro and Lightroom Mobile. I don't use a desktop anymore. No regrets. Works like a charm and does everything I need. A recent trip to the Lake District also proved no issues, wifi is practically non-existent there. I loaded my photos from a day's shoot (200-300) from card to iPad, edited to my hearts content locally. When I was back in the 21st century (ie home with decent wifi) the iPad uploaded them to the cloud all seamlessly and flawlessly.

Many cameras these days can be connected to your smartphone via an app which you can control from your phone screen. My Sony camera connects to the Image Edge Mobile app. Here you can connect your camera, automatically send over photos and better yet, take photos without touching your camera.

When taking solo travel photos, you can get in position, perfect your pose and even check what the image is going to look like on your phone screen before pressing the shutter.

This is common sense really. I would rather have a photo of me slightly closer to the camera than have my camera stolen by walking five minutes away.

A tip for this is to zoom out as far as possible, then you can be relatively near to the camera but still have a lot of scenery included. You can always crop it or zoom in later.

There are so many photos out there of me blinded and squinting in the middle of the day, my face in shadow from the sun. If you want great solo travel photos and can control the time you visit a place, I would advise putting some thought into this. These are the best times of day for travel photos:

A wholly different Russian leader is at the helm now, yearning for those years when fear of Russia made children in faraway places race to basements, terrified of what might drop from the sky. He too, stands alone, not framed by snow and trees, but accompanied only by his own madness and cruelty.

Another example is our member Jenet of @fmdjewelryla. She knows her customers and she knows they are ladies that like to drink wine and have wine parties. So guess what? When she goes through #winewednesday or #winedown she see will see lots of photos of and by people that she already knows are the kind of people who like to buy her jewelry. While not everyone will be, she can visually see and deduce who is a lady that likes wine just by clicking on the photos.

FotoGemelliThe first half of the photo is in Alan's Morton's office along with a key from the library while the second half is in Obed Morton's bedroom along with the second key. The photo portrays the two twins in front of the gate to the World of Darkness, taken by the grandfather of the two, and an addition is engraved on its back, the result of which is the code to be used at the panel in the library, so as to reveal a secret room .

I don't use Photoshop, Pixinsight, GIMP, etc., for my astrophotography in an effort to keep things (relatively) simple. I stack and process in Siril, touch up the image in Mac Photos, and upload to Facebook and Instagram for my friends to mild accolades.

If you want to do complex processes, you need to learn how to use a program like Photoshop, GIMP, or Affinity Photo. Mac Photos is only going to take you so far, and astrophotography image processing is an involved process. This way, besides Starnet++, you can learn that there is more than one way to skin a cat when it comes to star reduction, whether you do it in Photoshop, or GIMP, or Affinity Photo.

I would be looking at Affinity photo, and a simple plugin.

Star net works, but.....Too many artifacts for my liking. Affinty is like 50 bucks and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again for the price, and have been known to actually buy liscenses as gifts. You won't catch me doing that with photoshop.

Here is a simple way to reduce in Affinity.

StarXterminator will only give you one process, Affinity Photo will offer you a wide range of image processing tools, including astrophotography-specific ones. The only real cost is the time spent to get up to speed with a program that has a multitude of processing options.

It's your choice of course, but I think you're cutting yourself short avoiding learning to use a resource that offers multiple tools to help you get the most out of your imagery, both astrophotographic and terrestrail. It's certainly more advance and robust than the Mac Photos you've accustomed yourself to, and reasonably priced.

Fly fishing with a friend, family member, or loved one can be a great way to spend some quality time together, and it does have some other advantages. You have someone there to lend you a hand when needed, whether it is netting a fish for you or taking a photo of you with your catch. While that kind of camaraderie is always enjoyable, there is just something therapeutic about going out on your own. Fishing by yourself allows you to just put all of the cares of world aside and get out and enjoy nature. Since a large majority of fly fishers practice catch-and-release, we now rely on taking photos of our catch to show others what exemplary fishermen and fisherwomen we are.

This GripTight stand fits great in my vest pocket and is quick and easy to set up. Once the fish is in your net, you can pull out your stand, put your phone or camera on it, and set the self timer. Then grab the fish and pose for your trophy shot. I have a camera app on my iPhone 4S called Camera+, which is a great photo-editing app and it also features a self timer. I set the self timer for 15 seconds, set it in the grips on the stand, position it somewhere safe on the side of the river, grap the fish from my net, and pose!

Lomography's LomoChrome '92 is designed to mimic the look of classic drugstore film that used to fill family photo albums. As we discovered, to shoot with it is to embrace the unexpected, from strange color shifts to odd textures and oversized grain.

The LowePro PhotoSport Outdoor is a camera pack for photographers who also need a well-designed daypack for hiking and other outdoor use. If that sounds like you, the PhotoSport Outdoor may be a great choice, but as with any hybrid product, there are a few tradeoffs.

If you want a compact camera that produces great quality photos without the hassle of changing lenses, there are plenty of choices available for every budget. Read on to find out which portable enthusiast compacts are our favorites.

With the rise of every angler using a cell phone to take fish pics (from 12-year-olds to 90-year-olds), combined with the rise of personal fishing craft such as kayaks and paddleboards (not to mention the shore anglers who often fish alone), the amount of anglers trying to capture the perfect pic while fishing alone has skyrocketed.

Also, with the iPhone, do you use the camera on the screen side, which I have heard does not take as good photos, or the camera on the phone back side, which is higher quality, but probably hard to get the composition framed as well, particularly as a fish is flopping around and you are trying to get it back into the water asap. ff782bc1db
