I chose these photos because it’s one of the moments where I felt happy about my work and it serves as proof of my journey as a photographer. I’m also dedicating these to the person who inspires me to take my camera and shoot more despite how your mental health can affect you or how life can be harsh sometimes, to keep on creating, being yourself regardless and keeping that passion alive and close to your heart.

I've always been fascinated with the concept of nostalgia and trying to recapture that feeling of a moment in time. 

As a beginner, I wanted to experiment with long exposure photography and shoot late night Crowchild Trail to create this photo of something that feels familiar to many of us.

His subject matter is mainly nature, but loves using his lens as a tool for noticing. Moments are what we try to capture in photos. Often the beauty in it, is that, that is how we look back at life as well; we remember it through the moments that we lived through. Being the only one I knew in the city on day one, I started transcribing my moments in Calgary when I moved here to study 6 years ago. Conversely, I started missing out on the moments of the people closest to me - 6 years ago. Whether it be, not being able to grasp my cousin getting taller through the limitations of a video call; or missing my best friend's wedding. Moments of my loved ones kindling a new flame, or the flickering of some as they go out. Being this far away, the best I can hope for is to capture glimpses of their moments through the telescope of technology. Alas, this journey here of my own has moments too. Moments, friends and memories here in this city that I call home now. Ones that I cherish and am grateful for.

This series captures that diversity: the ethereal, misty mountains of Yangshuo, the vibrant stilt homes of Tai O, and the quiet dignity of a Shaoxing fisherman. These images are a visual diary of my travels, documenting the beauty, resilience, and unique atmosphere of life along China’s waterways.

It is an incredible opportunity and privilege to be able to explore the natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies, especially in a place as breathtaking as the valley surrounding Lake O’Hara. Although photos alone cannot truly capture the staggering beauty of this place, and the sublime feeling it invokes, my photography tries to capture just a glimpse of these spectacular – and formidable – landscapes.

This was one of those moments where everything lined up. The plane lifting off just as the wind moved through the grass below. It felt calm but powerful at the same time. The landscape stayed quiet while the aircraft pushed upward, and for a second they shared the same space. I like how it shows aviation not separate from nature, but passing through it, even if only for a moment.
