Privacy Policy for True Security Antivirus
Last Updated: April 16, 2025
At True Security: Antivirus ("we", "our", or "us"), we prioritise your privacy and are dedicated to ensuring that your personal data is treated securely and responsibly. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS app, True Security Antivirus ("App"). By using our App, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
We want to make it clear that True Security Antivirus does not collect, store, or share any personal data, including:
Email addresses
Phone numbers
User-identifiable data
Messages or communications
We do not upload, transmit, or store any user data on our servers, ensuring that all data you interact with remains entirely on your device. Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, and we maintain strict measures to ensure no data is shared or transmitted externally.
When using the App, you may be asked to grant the following permissions:
Location Permission: If you opt to enable Wi-Fi scanning, the App will request access to your device’s location data. This is used solely for determining the geographical coordinates of the Wi-Fi networks to which you are connected. Your precise location is never shared or stored outside the app, and no location data is transmitted to any third-party services or servers.
Phishing Detection and Email Scanning: The App may detect potential phishing activities by scanning local data from your device, including email setup. This is done locally on your device, and no email data is uploaded or shared with external servers. You will be notified of potential threats directly on your device.
Private Folders: You may choose to store files in the private folders feature within the App. These files remain securely stored only on your device, and True Security does not access or store any files in these folders.
The App includes a Hidden Camera Detection feature to help users identify potential hidden cameras in their surroundings. This feature operates as follows:
Technology Used
IR Light Detection: Some hidden cameras emit infrared (IR) light for night vision. The iPhone’s built-in camera sensor can detect IR light, which is invisible to the human eye. When you enable this feature, the App scans for unusual IR light sources and alerts you if detected.
Optical Reflection Detection: The App uses your iPhone’s camera and flashlight to identify lens-like reflections that may originate from hidden cameras. You manually scan your environment, and the App highlights suspicious reflections in real time.
Permissions and Data Handling
Camera Access: The App requests camera permission to enable real-time scanning for IR light and optical reflections. No images, videos, or visual data from your camera are stored, transmitted, or shared. All processing occurs locally on your device.
No Data Retention: The App does not retain any scans, reflections, or IR detection results. All analysis is temporary and deleted immediately after the session ends.
Manual Detection Tips
For additional privacy assurance, we recommend these manual steps to locate hidden cameras:
Physical Inspection: Check for small, unusual objects (e.g., holes in walls, smoke detectors, or decor items) that may conceal cameras.
Use a Flashlight: Turn off lights and slowly scan the room with your phone’s flashlight. Camera lenses often reflect light as a bright glint.
Check Wireless Networks: Use the App’s Wi-Fi scanning feature to identify unfamiliar or suspicious devices connected to your network.
Look for Blinking Lights: Some hidden cameras have indicator LEDs that blink during operation.
The App uses Apple’s TrueDepth API to enable the AR Ruler functionality. This feature measures distances between objects in your environment using augmented reality.
Data Handling: No TrueDepth API data (e.g., scanned points or visual data) is stored, transmitted, or shared. All processing occurs locally on your device, and measurements are temporary.
We do not collect or store personal data. However, we may use the following data for specific features:
Device Information: The App may access basic device information (e.g., model, iOS version) to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues.
Wi-Fi Scanning: Scans analyze network security risks (e.g., weak encryption). Location data used here is never shared externally.
Device Scan Results: Scans detect malware, phishing apps, or suspicious activities. All results remain on your device.
To provide core features, the App may request:
Location Permission: Required for Wi-Fi scanning (geographical context only).
Wi-Fi Access: Necessary to evaluate network security.
Camera Permission: Required for hidden camera detection features (IR and reflection scans).
Data Encryption: All local data (e.g., private folders, scan results) is encrypted.
No Cloud Storage: Data remains exclusively on your device.
Security Measures: Industry-standard protocols protect against unauthorized access.
If issues arise, the App will guide you through troubleshooting steps or notify you of critical errors with resolution instructions.
The App does not share data with third parties, including advertisers or analytics platforms.
The App is not intended for users under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
All data (e.g., scan results, files) resides only on your device. Uninstalling the App or deleting files removes this data permanently.
You retain full control over your data:
Access: All scan results are deleted after displaying them to the user or when the app is closed.
Updates will reflect a revised "Last Updated" date. Review periodically for changes.
