Welcome to Contacts, a smart dialer and phone management application developed by Cara Tech. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our mobile application. We provide features like call history management, quick search, and smart dialing to help you manage your communication efficiently. By using the app, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
We believe in your privacy, which is why we do not collect any type of personal user data on our servers. The app does not require you to create an account or provide personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number to function.
Any data processing, such as contact management or call history analysis, is performed locally on your device. We do not share any of your personal data with third-party companies, services, or individuals. Since all data is processed and stored locally, it never leaves your device through our application.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data based on the following legal grounds:
Legitimate Interests: To provide and improve our app's core functions, such as smart dialing and contact organization.
Consent: For showing personalized or non-personalized advertisements and collecting analytics through third-party partners.
Contractual Necessity: To fulfill features you initiate, such as making a phone call or managing a contact.
To provide a functional dialer experience, our app requires specific Android permissions. We only use these permissions for their intended purposes and never for unauthorized data harvesting.
READ_CONTACTS & WRITE_CONTACTS: Required to show and manage your contact list. This allows you to view frequent contacts and edit details directly within the app.
READ_CALL_LOG & WRITE_CALL_LOG: Used to display your recent calls, missed calls, and call duration. This ensures you have full control over your communication history.
READ_PHONE_STATE: Necessary to detect if the phone is ringing or idle, allowing the app to show the incoming call interface correctly.
CALL_PHONE: Enables you to initiate calls directly from the dialer or your contact list.
ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS: Allows the app to function as a call-handling interface so you can pick up incoming calls.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to notify you about missed calls or reminders.
WAKE_LOCK & DISABLE_KEYGUARD: These ensure that the incoming call screen appears immediately, even if your device is locked or the screen is off.
BLUETOOTH_ADMIN: Manages Bluetooth connections so you can route your calls through headsets or car systems.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_PHONE_CALL: Ensures the app remains stable and active during an ongoing call so it isn't closed by the system.
MODIFY_PHONE_STATE: Used to clear missed call notifications once you have viewed them.
QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES: Specifically queries for apps like WhatsApp, Google Meet, and Google Maps to enable quick actions like video calling or location-based tasks from your contact list.
Your data security is our priority. We use Room DB, a local database, to store your "Quick Responses" and app settings. This data is stored entirely on your device’s internal storage and is not uploaded to any cloud server. While no method of electronic storage is ever completely immune to risks, we use industry-standard Android security protocols to protect the local data stored by the app.
We use a selection of trusted SDKs to improve app performance and provide essential services. These third parties may collect technical data (like IP addresses or device identifiers) according to their own policies.
Firebase SDK: Used for analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration.
Glide: Used for efficient image loading and contact photo caching.
Hilt: A dependency injection library used for code simplicity and performance.
Room DB: Used for local data persistence of your responses.
Gson: Facilitates data serialization/deserialization.
EasyPermissions: Simplifies the way we ask you for system permissions.
Multidex: Ensures the app builds and runs correctly on all Android versions.
Libphonenumber: Used for parsing and formatting phone numbers accurately.
To keep the app free, we show advertisements. Our ad partners may use device identifiers to serve relevant ads to you.
AdMob & AdX (Google): Provides the advertisements you see in the app.
Facebook (Meta Audience Network): Used for ad delivery.
Firebase Analytics: Helps us understand how users interact with the app so we can fix bugs and improve features.
Our app does not use traditional web cookies. However, third-party advertising SDKs may use "Advertising IDs" (such as the Google Advertising ID) to track ad performance and provide personalized content. You can reset these IDs or opt-out of personalized ads in your Android device settings.
All core processing of your contacts and call logs happens on the client side (your phone). We do not have a backend server that receives your contact list or call logs. Third-party SDKs mentioned in Section 6 process technical metadata (device model, OS version, app crashes) to ensure the app stays functional.
Since we do not store your data on our servers, we do not have a "retention" period.
Local Data: Any data stored in the app (like quick responses) is deleted immediately if you uninstall the app.
Analytics/Ads: Data collected by third parties (like Firebase) is retained according to their specific retention policies, often ranging from 14 to 60 days for analytical data.
The App offers subscription-based and in-app purchase options to unlock premium features and ad-free access.
Payment Processing: All payments are handled securely by Google Play Billing. We do not collect, store, or see your card information or Google account passwords.
Subscriptions: These renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing date. You can manage them in your Google Play account settings.
Purchase Info: Google may share limited, non-personal status updates (like "subscription active") so we can unlock your features.
Refunds: All refund requests must follow
and be processed through their platform.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
Access: View the technical data collected by third-party SDKs.
Rectification: Ask for corrections to any data.
Erasure: Have your data deleted (primarily by uninstalling the app).
Withdraw Consent: You can change your ad preferences or revoke permissions in the app/device settings at any time.
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt-out of the "sale" of personal information. As we do not "sell" personal data in the traditional sense, any data sharing is limited to the third-party service providers listed in Section 6 for business purposes (ads/analytics).
We do not track our users over time and across third-party websites to provide targeted advertising and therefore do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. However, some third-party service providers may keep track of your browsing activities.
Information collected by third-party SDKs (like Google or Meta) may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state or country, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ. By using the app, you consent to these transfers.
We do not engage in deceptive behaviors, nor do we distribute malware. Our app is designed to be a utility tool that respects the network integrity of your device. We do not use your device to send spam or participate in network attacks.
Our app may contain links to other sites (like the privacy policies of our partners). If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.
Our app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this from our records.
We will disclose any information where required to do so by law or subpoena, or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes.
