My friends,
I do not want to be a slave nor a sharecropper. No one does. As you may or may not know, we rent the space at Harriett’s Bookshop from a woman who decided to give us a chance when no one else would.
However our lease is up in JULY and instead of renewing it for another 2 years, wed’d prefer to OWN our own building for Harriett’s Bookshop.
As it stands, I am a modern day sharecropper bringing energy and investing money in a location that I cannot pass down to my children.
But we can change that.
The new permanent location would give us a mission focused bookshop with an 1800s residential feel that includes multiple floors of private book nooks, indoor/outdoor green space, meeting rooms, and a state of the art third floor apartment which will be used to house a visiting rotation of authors, artists, and activists.
With your donation, our monument to Harriett Tubman will be a permanent staple in the community and our impact will be felt for generations.
We appreciate your contribution from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you and Ase.

My name is Adam McNeil and I am the founder of this grassroots organization SistaTALKphl and this year with the help of the community I think to provide as many services to As many single mothers and families as possible. Although my organizations Primary focus is to provide services to single black mothers, creating programs that will help combat social injustices as well as Treat trauma we are no bias in our approach to create remedies that are beneficial to to growth of the entire community. Our community watch days will start back up again in the month of April and they will run all the way through November. Throughout each month I desire to give away washers and dryer’s as well as refrigerators to mothers during these community watch days outside of the regular giveaways that we have scheduled such as care package pampers and other essentials that mothers could use. We believe that these additions to our community wash day really assist families that are struggling. I hope that I am able to raise enough money To buy some sort of box truck or E-series van so that way we can pick up donations and do citywide giveaways without the extra expenses of U-Haul rentals.

This fund is for my wildest dreams, it's a way for me to resist the fear and ask for help. I am leaning on my community more and more these days. At the moment I am having painful shifts in my mouth due to three impacted wisdom teeth and a rotting broken molar. Both are high risk and if I don't remove them the headaches will remain and possible infection is always a possibility when we are talking about broken and exposed teeth.
I am simultaneously, trying to fully fund a trip to Senegal for an amazing opportunity to train and spread my wings. I graciously received grant money from the Leeway Foundation, but those funds were allocated to debt, backed up bills, rent, car expenses, rehearsal space, and a growing savings for Ma'at Works Dance Collective so that I can PAY DANCERS!!
I'm hoping that you can find it in your hearts to donate and share this post so that I can thrive this year. I've made a lot of big decisions that are changing my reliance on a salary. It was a risky decision, but something I need to do for my mental health. I want a lot for myself and I feel like I have all the opportunities and no financial backing. If you can help by sharing or donating it would mean the world to me.
