It is the second year that Philosoφ is organizing a conference. We received national and international submissions for Philosoφ- 2022 conference. One year the theme of conference will be from western philosophy and one year from Indian philosophy. We hope this platform grows with better representation and quality of submission. We hope to build a platform where Philosophical discussions are rigorously held in a professional manner.
About the Theme
We call for abstracts of about 300 words on any topic in Indian Philosophy. Full length papers around 3000 words suitable for presentation of about 30 minutes. We want to make this conference as rigorous as possible, so even though there is a freedom to choose any topic in Indian Philosophy we have stringent criteria with regards to the methodology. The organizers expect that the submissions follow the methods prescribed in various Indian Philosophical traditions. We strongly recommend that the submissions provide Indian expository structure Anubandh Chatustay (Fourfold Binding) viz. Vishay (topic), Sambandha (relation), Adhikari (eligible) and Prayojan (purpose) to their abstracts and essay. Secondly we recommend the method for example of Pancavayavi Vakya (fivefold model of argumentation) to be used to convince and justify the thesis of the paper. We have the Buddhist method of Prasanga given by Nagarjuna.
The image in the header shows chariot wheel at the Konark temple suggestive of intricate and deep thought within Indian Philosophical systems.. Various topics pertaining reality, cognition, knowledge, ethics, aesthetics, logic, skepticism, critical thinking, ontology, language, truth, life, sex, money, polity, existence, non-existence etc. are raised in the Indian tradition. No question is a taboo. Only condition being some rigorous method is used while making such an inquiry.
