Floorball is a type of floor hockey played with sticks and ball.
We are going to the go over the rules. We start with actions allowed and actions not allowed.
Hitting the ball with both sides of the stick
Gaining control of the ball and oriententing the ball with foot or chest.
Make three contacts with the floor to defend (two feet and one knee)
Using the walls
Lifting the stick above the knee level
Playing the ball either with head or hand.
Entering the opponent's area.
Kicking the ball
Pushing the opponent
Stick checking, lifting, locking, or slashing.
Playing or trying to play the ball when being on the floor.
Defending making more than three contacts with the floor.
Moving the goal
Entering the own area
Playing your stick between another player’s legs
Throwing the stick
Any violent action
Paying in a dangerous way
The ball is placed where the infraction occured.
The opposing team must back up three meters
The player has two options: taking a shot (which may result in a goal) and passing a teammate
The player must play the ball within three seconds.
The contact with the ball must be one solid hit. You cannot swipe the ball to start a free hit.
Afterwards, the ball must be touched by another player so the server can touch the ball again.
The player stars at the center face off dot.
The goalkeeper stars touching the goal's line
The player can touch the ball as many times as they want but always forward.
The penalty shot finish when the player scores or the ball goes backwards.
Face offs are used to start the game after a goal or each period.
The stick must be on the floor and perpendicular to de center line.
The feet must be parallel to the center line.
The ball is in the middle and between both sticks. The sticks cannot touch the ball.
Play start when the whistle is blown.
Goalkeepers can use any part of their body to stop the ball within the area.
They have three seconds to pass the ball (otherwise it is considered a free hit)
This passes must touch either the floor, the wall or a player before crossing the center line.
If goalplayers leave the area are considered as normal players without a stick.
A team can make unlimited substitutions.
They cannot be done if the play is near.
The player must leave the court before the substitute can enter.
The refreree may expulse during two minutes, five minutes or permanently.
3 periods of 20 minutes (but every time the referee blows the whistle the time stops)
