I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Transforming Economies research group at the Complexity Science Hub, Vienna. My primary research interest lies at the intersection of economic history, labor economics and political economy. I mainly study these questions empirically using quasi-natural experiments influenced by the recent literature in regional and urban economics.
I completed my PhD in economics at Central European University. During my doctoral studies, I used exogenous shocks and historical events in Austria to answer interesting questions in labor economics and political economy. Most of my work focuses on the subsequent occupation of Austria after WW2 and long-run outcomes in population dynamics, labor markets and election outcomes. Recently, I worked on the long-run effects of WW2 on socioeconomic conditions in Vienna.
