I am a PhD student in economics at Central European University. My primary research interest lies at the intersection of economic history and political economy. I mainly study these questions empirically using quasi-natural experiments influenced by the recent literature in regional and urban economics.
During my PhD, I used exogenous shocks and historical events in Austria to answer interesting questions in labor economics and political economy. Most of my work focuses on the subsequent occupation of Austria after WW2 and long-run outcomes in population dynamics, labor markets and election outcomes. Recently, I worked on the long-run effects of WW2 on socioeconomic conditions in Vienna.
