Yet once more let us, returning to the beginning, say: If one is not but the other than the one is, what, then, must be. ~ Then, let’s say that. ~ All right, the other shall not be one? ~ Indeed, how could it? ~ Hence, also not many. For underneath the being many would every time be also one. For, if none of them is one, so too they are as a totality naught and so cannot possibly be many. ~ Right. ~ Hence, if the one is not in the other: so too this is neither one nor many. ~ No, indeed not. ~ And appears also neither as one nor as many. ~ How’s that? ~ Because the other cannot possibly have any community with any such non-being anywhere or in any way, nor also can there be anything from that which is not with anything of the other, for non-being has, indeed, nothing. ~ Right. ~ Hence too, there is no notion of non-being by the other, nor any seemings thereof, and of that which is not there also shall in no manner be any notions anywhere in the other. ~ No, indeed not. ~ If, then, one is not, so too the other shan’t be, nor is there any notionality of it whatsoever – neither as one, nor as many. For to have a notion of many without one, this is not possible. ~ Indeed, impossible. ~ If, then, one is not, so too neither is the other – nor shall there be any notions of it, neither as one nor as many. ~ It seems not. ~ Thus too, neither as similar nor dissimilar. ~ No, indeed not. ~ Even so little, now, as the same or as different, as touching or as separate, nor as everything else that we demonstrated in the previous as the seemings, from all of this the other is neither anything nor does it seem to be anything, if the one is not. ~ True. ~ Hence, to put it all together, if one is not so naught is – shall we not say this with all due right? ~ Indeed, with the greatest. ~
So, then, let it be said – and also that, as it seems, whether now the one is or is not, it itself and the others, and indeed for each in itself as well as in relation one to the other, everything in all ways is and is not and seems to be as well as does not so seem. ~ Absolutely true.
