I am professor of economics at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Gernamy, research fellow of CEPR and CESifo. As the chair of International Finance my research interestss lie at the intersection of international finance and international trade, covering topics related to exchange rate dynamics, sovereign debt crises and the effects of international trade on labor markets and on the environment. My work generally involves tractable theoretical models to identify testable channels and causal effects, which I analyze using reduced-from empirical strategies that are tightly linked to theory.
