So I'm trying to watch movies with my girlfriend and want to make it more immersive with the hue lights. Music mode works perfectly fine, I then tried syncing my lights to the screen, only this time I get, "your current desktop mode is not supported by this app, Please change your desktop mode and try again." I have no clue what they mean by desktop mode because my laptop isn't a 2 in 1 tablet so I'm just confused as to why it's giving me this message.

I have exactly the same issue with my new hue play lights. I even got an rma for the bridge, thinking there could be some issue with it after reading several posts. What was my surprise when I noticed the same issue with the new bridge. The first setup is perfectly done, but the next ones not. Hue sync keeps trying to connect to the bridge but it does not work.

My objective is to use my philips hue hdmi sync box on my gaming pc if the performance deductions can become more reasonable. Philips hue seems to accept 120hz signal but its known it can not pass through 120hz at 4k (or any resolution, i believe). So, i run my monitor over display port (4k, 120hz) and clone to the philips sync box over hdmi. I dont appear to lose capabilities due to connectivity but the gameplay (frame rate) suffers dramatically. I probably use odd graphics settings 1600p, "quality" dlss, high ray tracing, no hdr, everything else in high. Like this i get consistent 130-150 fps (and then output to monitor with gsync at 120hz). Everything the same, turning on the cloning over hdmi drops those same settings frame rate to like 60-80 fps range.

Has anyone else dealt with this and discovered a better way to do what i'm trying to do? The hdmi sync box and lights work great but the performance hit makes it not practical for gaming. Do i just need to wait for next gen philips sync box that does hdmi 2.1?

One thing i do want to add is now that im cloning monitors, the game im talking about (COD cold war) now makes me select windowed full screen mode instead of just running normal "full screen". Also, in nvidia control panel i can NOT adjust settings of the signal to my sync box, refresh rate is 120hz though and resolution i actually cant tell. I'm not passing through the hdmi sync box, just running into one of its inputs.

You probably may not know or try it but the pico max can connect to window 10 laptop using android mirror screen under setting. i can connect to windows 10 and use is as second screen.

However i found that the screen ratio is off when is selected to duplicate the screen. And the input lag is like 2 seconds. The sound and screen are sync which js good. The extend mode works fine but no matter which mode ur in , delay persist

I wish they can solve this problem as the input lag really bothering me. The android cast screen has significant lower delay in comparison

I got a new monitor that supports AMD Freesync (PHILIPS 242E1GAJ). I have an Sapphire RX 570 8gb lite (Placa Grfica Sapphire Radeon RX 570 PULSE 8GB G5 Lite | PCDIGA) and I'm running the latest driver. The monitor is connected through DPORT

I did check for some drivers for my monitor and I found these I have downloaded the drivers (a .zip file) and when extracted it just gave me some files. I've followed the Readme.txt to install the monitor driver and windows said that there was a better or same driver installed on my system.

I beleive it drops the refresh for games thay drop below 120 or 60 fps and somewhat matches the refresh to the FPS to smooth it out etc. Perfect world I guess you'd have 4K @ 120Hz with a V-sync of steady 120FPS..?

CRU can only enable a feature that the panel allready has but the driver does not support AND/OR overclock the Panel

like in my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-42 i was able to OC my IPS from 60Hz to 100Hz AND enable FreeSync

your question about FreeSync: it is adaptive sync; that means it reduces tearing; but if you have high framedrops (like from 120fps to 50fps) than it still can "stutter" 1-2 frames (as does G-Sync)

but playing with FreeSync is much better - and in games like CSGO when you enable "Anti-Lag" and "Enhanced-Sync" and "FreeSync" than it looks awesome and feels buttersmooth ;) ff782bc1db
