From Neural networks to Deep learning

Now, about 20 years later, neural networks have made a strong back with deep learning,
Yann Lecun is Director of AI research in Facebook, Leon Bottou is Principal Researcher in Microsoft,
The regression/prediction tools previously developed in TL/prediction constituted the core of Kxen technology, now SAP InfiniteInsight tools for Predictive Analytics
but the SN Neural Network simulator and its lisp interpretor have also evolved into Lush project available as an open source software with a lot of functionalities related to image/video processing.
During my PhD, I have worked (a lot) about Neural Networks and machine learning (and a bit about Bayesian networks :-)).In this period, in Patrick Gallinari's Connex research group, we were using the SN Neural Network Simulator wrote by Leon Bottou and Yann LeCun, and developing new functionalities with their lisp interpretor TL3.
