Lollar House was established July 28, 2008 by the Brothers of Phi Delta Sigma Fraternity. It is the former residence of Dr. Laddie Hughes Lollar and his wife, Adelia “Dee Dee” Moon Lollar. Dr. Lollar advised Phi Delta Sigma Fraternity for over 40 years.
After his death in 2007, the brothers of Phi Delta Sigma put in motion a plan to buy the residence from the Lollar family under then Phi Delta Sigma Fraternity President, Mr. Marcus Hayes. The plans moved forward, and the house was purchased the next year under the president for that term, Mr. Mark Shreve.
Phi Delta Sigma’s advisor since the passing of Dr. Lollar is Mr. Dewayne Ervin of McKenzie, TN. He began co-advising with Dr. Lollar in 2003 and became advisor in 2007 until 2012. The co-advisor at the time of the purchase of the house was Mr. Frankie Tubbs, originally from Sikeston, MO. The current co-advisor is Mr. Alex Crawley.
Lollar House is a work in progress. At Homecoming 2008, the brothers’ unveiled The Lollar Library, as the Lollar Family donated all of Dr. Lollar and Dee Dee’s books — thousands of books which now have a permanent home. Currently, it is in the works for the Lollar House to become a tax-exempt charitable organization so that supporters may contribute funds which may be taken off their taxes for the year in which they give. We invite you to take a tour of the house or to help out in any way you can. The community has come together to restore this beautiful home. Lollar House is evolving, and it is the fraternity’s plan to restore the home completely. It will take time, patience, great faith, and of course, your contributions. We thank everyone who has helped us so far, and there are many.
The Brothers of Phi Delta Sigma feel so blessed to have the support of our brothers, Lambda Sigma sisters, both present and past, and our community. If you’re in McKenzie, TN, please visit the Lollar House. Get involved. We could always use the help.
