The University of Pittsburgh undergraduate chapter of Phi Chi was founded by 20 undergraduates in April of 2015. The University of Pittsburgh chapter is the third chapter of Phi Chi Pre-Medical Society. This chapter is also one of the founding chapters of the national organization of The Pre-medical Society. Phi Chi Pre-Medical Society is the undergraduate branch of Phi Chi Medical Fraternity. The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine had an active graduate chapter from the years 1905-1912 but have since gone inactive.
