If you want immersive, low-latency audio with active noise cancellation specifically optimized for console gaming like the PS5, choose Phiaton Bonobuds Plus; if you need a versatile Bluetooth transmitter that doubles as a high-quality earbud pair for travel and TV use, choose Avantree Relay.
• Phiaton Bonobuds Plus: Delivers high-resolution 24-bit/96kHz audio with ultra-low latency via Qualcomm aptX Adaptive, making it a top-tier choice for gamers, though it lacks the universal AUX compatibility of a dedicated transmitter.
• Avantree Relay: Offers hybrid ANC with a robust Bluetooth 5.3 adapter feature for connecting to non-Bluetooth devices like planes or older TVs, but functions primarily as an ecosystem rather than a standalone gaming headset with native console integration.
• Who it's for: Pick Phiaton for those prioritizing sound fidelity and zero lag during gameplay; pick Avantree for travelers or commuters who need a single device to solve audio problems across multiple different environments.
The Phiaton Bonobuds Plus is engineered for the listener who refuses to compromise on audio fidelity, especially when every millisecond of delay matters. At the heart of this design lies the Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound technology, which leverages the aptX Adaptive codec to push high-resolution audio up to 24-bit and 96kHz. This isn't just about hearing more details in your favorite tracks; it is about maintaining crystal-clear synchronization between what happens on screen and what you hear in your ears. For anyone looking for the best active noise cancelling bluetooth headphones for ps5, this feature set is critical because standard Bluetooth protocols often introduce lag that can ruin competitive gaming or break immersion in story-driven titles.
Beyond the raw specs, the physical design speaks directly to long-term comfort and stability. The earbuds utilize customized 12mm Dual Dynamic Drivers, which are tuned to handle a broad spectrum of frequencies without distortion. Whether you are listening to deep bass in a movie soundtrack or trying to distinguish subtle footsteps in a shooter game, the drivers deliver enhanced clarity. The open-ear placement combined with four sizes of flexible silicone tips ensures a snug fit that stays put during intense sessions. Furthermore, the IPX4 rating means these earbuds can handle sweat and light rain, so they remain reliable companions whether you are working out before a match or commuting to a LAN party.
However, this product is not for everyone. If your primary goal is simply to connect to a TV via a 3.5mm cable from a decade-old model, the Bonobuds Plus will not be your direct solution. While the digital hybrid noise cancelling offers up to 98% reduction of background noise, creating a genuinely immersive experience, it relies entirely on a stable wireless connection. The touch controls allow for easy volume adjustment and voice assistant access, but users must be comfortable managing audio through a wireless interface. It is designed for the modern ecosystem where wireless freedom is paramount, making it ideal for the gamer who wants a headset for ps5 that feels like a premium extension of their setup rather than a bulky accessory.

The Avantree Relay serves a different, yet equally vital, purpose in the audio landscape. Its core strength lies in its dual nature as both a premium pair of earbuds and a powerful Bluetooth 5.3 transmitter. This makes it the ultimate tool for bridging the gap between old and new technology. If you have a TV, a gym machine, or an airplane seat that only has an AUX output, the Relay solves the problem by converting that analog signal into a stable digital stream. The included dual 3.5mm adapters ensure that no matter the connector type, you can transmit audio wirelessly to any compatible headphones or even other Bluetooth devices like AirPods Pro 2.
When used as standalone earbuds, the Relay brings its own set of serious features to the table. It employs hybrid Active Noise Cancellation capable of blocking up to 24dB of environmental noise, which is substantial for blocking out the hum of a jet engine or the chatter in a busy office. The transparency mode allows you to instantly switch to Ambient Mode, letting external sounds in through built-in microphones so you never miss an announcement or a conversation. The battery display on the case gives you immediate visibility into charging status, removing the guesswork from your daily routine. With support for aptX-Adaptive, it also promises low-latency transmission, ensuring that music and video stay in sync, though its primary identity remains rooted in versatility and connectivity.
This product fits the user who travels frequently or lives in a home filled with mixed-generation electronics. It is perfect for the commuter who needs to listen to movies on a flight without worrying about the specific port on the seatback, or the home theater enthusiast who wants to upgrade their old TV's audio without buying a whole new system. However, if you are a hardcore gamer seeking a dedicated headset with native PS5 integration and zero input lag, the Relay might feel like a step back. It excels at being a universal adapter and a solid pair of noise-canceling buds, but it does not carry the same specialized gaming pedigree as a dedicated console peripheral.
