   Hyuntae Cho is an Assistant Professor at Tongmyong University, Korea. He earned his M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering from Pusan National University, Busan, Korea, in 2005 and 2011, respectively. In 2011, he joined Pusan National University as a Research Professor, focusing on real-time location systems for maritime and port environments. He spent 8.7 years at the Center for Integrated Smart Sensors (CISS), funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Korea, as part of the Global Frontier Project and a KAIST institute. During this period, he participated in numerous projects and collaborated with various professors and researchers across different research areas. In 2013, he received an award from the Minister of Science, ICT, and Future Planning. In 2016, he co-founded Luftsens, a startup company specializing in indoor air quality monitoring systems, where he served as CTO. In 2018, he founded another startup, Soricare, which provides services for ambient noise monitoring and fault diagnosis of robots using artificial intelligence. He also has expertise in precision time synchronization and real-time locating systems, and has developed an energy-harvesting blood glucose meter and an anemia monitoring system for in-vitro diagnosis.

His research interests encompass Smart Sensors, Embedded Systems, Internet of Things (IoT), Lightweight AI (including TinyML & Edge AI) for small devices, environmental monitoring systems (such as air quality and ambient noise), in vitro diagnostic systems, real-time locating systems, human activity tracking and gait analysis, wireless communication, computer vision, and depth extraction using stereo cameras, precision time synchronization, among others. He has authored 2 book chapters and published over 25 peer-reviewed international conference papers and 25 journal papers across various domains. Additionally, he holds more than 35 patents granted in Korea, China, and the U.S.
