Lightning Talks
On day-2, all Google PhD Fellows will give a short lightning talk in a 2-hour breakout session. Breakouts will be organized by research area. Google Hosts and other Google PhD Fellows will be present to provide feedback. This is a great opportunity to showcase your work to a relevant and captive audience! You will also be hearing from other Google PhD Fellows in your research area.
If there is remaining time after all lightning talks and discussion, then please feel free to ask questions you may have for your Google Hosts. Any additional time remaining prior to lunch (as a group) can be used to join the ML breakout in the main event space -- Please do so as a group escorted by Google Hosts & be mindful to not disturb the ongoing session.
Please be aware of the following guidelines to prepare for your lightning talk:
- Each talk should be a maximum of 10 minutes, but can be shorter (limit to 7 minutes for ML session).
- You may consider reusing your poster (vs. slides) if you will be participating in the Poster Session as well. Please save, roll-up your poster, and bring to this session on day-2.
- If you are preparing slides, then please use Google slides (16:9) and give phdfellowshipsummit2019@google.com edit rights. Send your final deck to this summit alias by July 10.
Our hope is this will be a fun and engaging experience for everyone involved. Please reach out to phdfellowshipsummit2019@google.com with any questions.
