Selection Process
Gmail Account and the candidates Contact Telephone Number is a MUST.
You MUST have a Gmail account to go through the entire selection process. If you do not have a Gmail Account, please create a new Gmail account. Please ensure that you use only one Gmail account for the entire process of selection. Therefore, the Gmail account that you provide during upload of Statement of Purpose (SOP), certificates, and presentation of research proposal should be same for the Online Interview, and for any other communication.

Step 1 : Upload Statement of Purpose (SOP), Certificates and Presentation
Deadline: 5th December, 2021; 11:59 PM, IST
Prepare and submit an SOP (of 400 words max) for pursuing Design Research. Please mention your name and mobile number in the SOP document. Maximum File Size:1 MB, File Type: pdf only.
Make a pdf document of all the certificates/documents of your academic and professional background and upload. Please put all your certificates/ documents in ONE pdf document. Maximum File Size:10 MB, File Type: pdf only.
Make a pdf of your research proposal presentation (of 12 slides max) and upload. Maximum File Size:10 MB, File Type: pdf only.
Deadline for submission of SOP, certificates and presentation of research proposal is 5th December, 2021, 11:59PM

Step 2 : Online Interview - 7th and 8th December 2021
Platform : Google Meet
Time : 10AM to 5:30PM (PRE-LUNCH : 10AM to 1PM; POST-LUNCH : 2PM to 5PM)
SOP (Weightage 15 marks)
Candidates will prepare and submit an SOP (of 400 words max) for pursuing Design Research on or before 8th June, 2021. The selection panel will refer this during the interview to understand the researcher’s interest. For submission of SOP and certificates, visit the page 'Upload SOP and Certificates' of this website.
Interview and Presentation (Weightage 85 marks)
Candidates will be given 15 minutes to make a presentation to the selection panel. The presentation ( 12 slides max) should briefly highlight the candidate’s background, their research objectives, approach & methodology and probable research contribution in the field of design research. The presentation should help the interview panel to critically assess the candidate’s research interest and their relevance and alignment with research direction of Department of Design IIT Guwahati.
