About us

Who are we?

PhD Your Way was created by maths PhD students Patrick Nairne and Kat Phillips in 2022. The initiative became realised,  when Patrick and Kat noticed the potential for an outreach event for mathematics PhDs that is collaborative between universities, as opposed to different institutions running their separate events.

The PhD Your Way intiative is still run by Kat, and supported by a team of advisors from across the UK, though she still claims that none of this would have been possible without Patrick's idea and support.

We want to wish a massive thank you to our advisory panel: Matt Roberts (Bath), Claudia Garetto (QMUL), Kalliopi Mylona (KCL), Luciano Rila (UCL) and Prachi Sahjwani (Cardiff)

and those who have helped in the past:  Patrick Nairne, Dr Dionysios Anninos (King’s College London),  Donna Niccolls (King’s College London), Dr Jean-Claude Cuenin (Loughborough University), Dr Alex Fink (Queen Mary), Dr Lashi Bandara (Brunel University)
