Courses and seminars
Each PhD student is required to gain at least 20 ECTS during the three years. These ECTS are distributed among the following activities:
compulsory activities
from 8 to 12 ECTS related to activities/courses directly offered by the PhD course;
from 4 to 8 ECTS refer to soft skills (i.e., Academic English, Ethics and persuasive communication techniques, Intellectual property protection, Technology transfer, Research management) and are offered by the University of Trieste (link)
from 1 to 6 ECTS must be related to conferences and workshops attended by the student
optional activities
max 5 ECTS are related to summer and winter schools chosen by the student
max 12 ECTS are related to didactic activities (i.e. seminars, lab work) given by the student in bachelor and master courses
max 2 ETCS are related to third mission activities
