Planetary Health Axis System (PHAS)
Mapping Development Footprints, Safeguarding Planetary Boundaries.
The PHAS project aims to accurately locate and evaluate the development levels of countries around the world in the four-axis of human health, species health, natural health, and social health, serving as a global tracking compass to model the interactions and a planetary health equilibrium.
By establishing an artificial intelligence digital system based on global open-source big data and integrating interdisciplinary theories and multi-level structural modules, PHAS enables for the first time a fully global, real-time dynamic, and visually interactive platform to map the human development footprints against the generalized Planetary Boundaries, to identify the priority areas, key issues, and crucial links of planetary health, and to put forward targeted optimization strategies and solutions according to the needs of multiple stakeholders.
PHAS will be opened to the international community as a global public good for the benefit of mankind.
Data-Driven Insights: Integrates AI and big data technologies to dynamically aggregate cross-domain public data, breaking down disciplinary silos for multidimensional analysis.
Real-Time Alerts: Monitors risks such as climate overshoot and biodiversity loss, issuing precise early warnings to enable timely action.
Science-Based Decision-Making: Combines theories from economics, environmental science etc. to generate quantitative metrics and scenario models, equipping policymakers to design equitable, low-cost development pathways.
PHAS is not merely a technological tool but a shared global commitment to safeguarding planetary health. Aligned with the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), PHAS fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and optimizes global governance to ensure human activities remain within Earth's safe operating space.
We envision PHAS as a core compass for global stakeholders navigating a sustainable future—anchored in science, connected by data, and united in co-creating a blueprint for humanity and Earth to thrive in harmony.
