All residents' safety on and off the road is guaranteed by the Traffic Enforcement Unit. We make sure that Blaine County residents drive safely and abide by all the rules and regulations that have been established. We accomplish this through a variety of techniques. DUI Checkpoints: Establish a checkpoint with other TEU Deputies to ensure that people are driving safely and not intoxicated. To make sure that our truck drivers are not exempt from this as well as the fact that they do pose a threat to the road, commercial vehicle enforcement, or CVE, was established. Within the Traffic Enforcement Unit, we watch out for all of these factors. The Sheriff's Office is presently accepting applications from all Deputy positions.
Traffic enforcement is one of the core functions of the Traffic Enforcement Unit. Traffic Enforcement Unit operations utilize specialized patrol vehicles and detection equipment to address general traffic concerns. These teams are directed to areas experiencing high crash rates and complaints of violations. Traffic enforcement activity levels are primarily dictated by staffing levels and the degree to which enforcement personnel are diverted to other irregular assignments that fall within that unit's purview. These other assignments vary in frequency according to need, and include such services as Radar Enforcement, Dignitary Protection, Escorts, Traffic Collisions, and DUI Checkpoints.

TEU is currently the biggest sub division that BCSO has. We offer unique vehicles, uniforms and perks that you get if you become apart of TEU. Our training is a more in depth training as we are held to a higher slandered then normal deputies and any other sub division.
