Lillia Strickland

First Place - Senior Division

Lillia Strickland is a 15-year-old sophomore at Montour High School. She considers music and literature to be two of the greatest parts of of being a human and loves to explore the intersection of those two passions through poetry and song writing. She often draws inspiration from some of her favorite writers including Sylvia Plath, Emily Dickinson, Daniel Johnston, and Steven Chbosky. Lillia’s own poetry draws from her life and explores a widespread variety of topics including girlhood, growing up, mental illness, feminism, love and loss.

Olive DiLeonardi

First Place - Junior Division

Olive DiLeonardi is a 6th-grade literary arts student at CAPA, in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. She was born in Denver, Colorado, but quickly moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. At 10 years old, Olive moved to Pittsburgh where she had the opportunity to start her diverse and across-state horror zine, CHILLS. Olive hopes to become a published author of horror, mystery, and fiction and a unique and well-known singer/dancer.
