Workers have been the center of American society since its birth. Under Governor Mika workers rights have seen a great increase, yet there is more work to be done and we must defend what we have secured from roll backs by the Republican Party. I will help worker-owned coops grow and become our dominant business model and a stable of the Atlantic Commonwealth and I will help workers rights with unions grow and foster and assist workers getting the ownership of the means of production
God has gifted us with many rights which cannot be seized from us. One of these is the right to bear arms, which is currently being infringed. I vow to propose legislation that will repeal many of Atlantic's unconstitutional gun laws and ensure that the average citizen can carry a gun and defend themselves from attacks and violence, by individuals or by Government.
Cooperatives are some of the greatest business models out their, they are often far more efficient and even more able to survive then the standard business, a long with having far happier workers because of their stake in the business. Unfortunately Republican law makers forget cooperatives often and favor large scale businesses. If I am elected to assembly I will assist cooperatives and help them build up and become our dominant business model for a more ethical Atlantic Commonwealth
Redistribution of wealth through a Universal Basic Income is a much needed reform in American welfare system. When too few men own too much, all men suffer from poverty and pain. Wealth must be redistributed among all people of Atlantic Commonwealth. We will redistribute the wealth downward, where the worst off will get the most, allowing them to finally live their lives to the fullest.
I believe we must protect our current progressive tax system. Republicans have been supporting a flat tax which they claim would be beneficial to the middle and lower class yet this isn't true as they will still need to pay those taxes, the only people who will benefit are the upper class who get more wealth in their pockets.
As Republican lawmakers further repeal regulations and lower taxes the ones who are hit the hardest are the local communities, these communities often consist of local family owned mom and pop shops, worker cooperatives and small farms. As they deregulate and end trust busting practices this allows large scale Agrarian businesses, large corporations and others to swoop in and harm the local businesses. In the assembly I will write legislation that will benefit our local communities and make sure they aren't impacted by large scale corporations.
