Hello, Great to see you!
I am Prashikdivya (Prashik) Gajbhiye, a PhD Candidate in Resource Economics at UMass Amherst. As an applied microeconomist, I focus on the intersection of environmental, agricultural, and development economics, with emphasis on policy implementation.
I study weather shocks, groundwater depletion, and their agricultural-economic impacts on vulnerable farming communities in India and the United States. Through this research, I aim to contribute to policies that improve these communities' resilience, adaptation, and mitigation strategies in the face of environmental challenges.
My interdisciplinary background includes a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and a Master's in Finance from India, followed by a Master's in Economics from Texas A&M University before joining UMass Amherst.
