Department of Computer Science and BCA department are two relatively young departments of the College, started in the year 1994 and 2000 respectively. Raja N. L. Khan Women's College (RNLKWC) is transforming itself from UG college to UG-PG college. M. Sc. Course in Computer Science with intake capacity 20 started after the visit and inspection from West Bengal Higher Education Department and Vidyasagar University in the the year 2017.
Raja Narendra Lal Khan Women's College was established in the year 1957 in the Gope Palace of Narajole Kings in Midnapore by the initiative of the then Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy & daughter in-law of Raja Narendra Lal Khan, Anjali Khan madam. This Gope Palace has been visited by many eminent freedom fighters such as Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Deshbandhu Chittaranajan Dash.
The college has been Accredited 'A' grade thrice, in 2005, 2011, and 2016. College has ranked within top 100 colleges in NIRF rank of MHRD, 2017. College is DST-FIST approved college, and accorded as CPE by UGC.
