My Google Journey
Not a "JOURNEY" journey- as it ended even before it started, but definitely an experience I'd never forget!
It was 8th of July, I clearly remember that we came home after uk, some real-estate stuff. I opened my laptop to resume my internship work.as a habit, I opened my mail then to see a mail from someone, with a google domain in his mail. I was rather unsurprised cuz this wasn't the first time I got mails from googles recruiters. All saying we don't want you right now-not that harsh but, it is what it is :)
I opened it with a look of disappointment mostly(don't remember with what look but def wouldn't have been happy) and that was it-My mum and thatha looked at me as if I were a mad woman shouting. I wasn't shouting- I was literally SCREAMING!! It was a different mail from others- it was a mail saying they were interested in my profile! Okay now this was an exaggerated reaction ik, but after all those rejections and getting shortlisted now without any referrals, not for some start-up, but The Google, was sure elating!
As the next step, he asked me to schedule for a telephonic discussion, which I booked for the next day! Not knowing what will be asked, I prepped all what was there in my resume and was ready, or that was what I thought. At 5.30p.m I got the call from the recruiter. He introduced himself, and directly jumped into the questions and asked me about my Comfort programming languages. He proceeded to ask the platforms I do DSA/CP on and how many questions I've solved. I was naive to answer all honestly, that I used to do CP in 1st year and then took a break to focus on Machine Learning, after which I resumed coding(DSA) this time. He then followed up asking about my projects including Backend stacks, and I briefly walked him through it.
He then told me to take some time, like a month to prepare strong and asked me to mail him in August when I feel I was prepared enough for the Interview.
After the call cut, I realized how big of a blunder I've made explaining stuff, more than I should've, but at the end what's done is done and I was being honest there.
Later I received a mail with resources linked for my preparation with the body stating the same what he told me but documented.
P.S: I started preparing my best for it and I still am TT
