Overview
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are toxic chemicals found in almost everyone's bodies. PFAS have been found to contaminate Nevada's environment and drinking water, and the state is uniquely vulnerable to PFAS due to our reliance on groundwater.
In my lecture series, I have been giving Nevada residents practical advice on how to reduce their exposure to PFAS. I created this website for people to access this guidance any time. This guidance is tailored to Nevadans, but it is can be useful for people living everywhere.
About me
I am Jordan Chong, a researcher on PFAS detection at the University of Nevada, Reno. I grew up in New Hampshire and now live in Reno, NV. I am also a junior at the Davidson Academy of Nevada. I hope to help our residents make responsible choices to protect themselves.Â
