Peter John Cubbon Craine is a British-born author who became a Spanish citizen in 2023. He left Holborn, London and moved to Gran Canaria in 2005. He lives in Maspalomas, with his ginger cat Olly, who has strong opinions about deadlines.
Peter writes mainly LGBT+ & M/M fiction across genres, from historical romance to techno-thrillers, usually with a healthy dose of humor and danger. His stories tend to feature ordinary people caught up in extraordinary situations, and he's a firm believer that kindness from strangers is one of the most underrated plot devices going.
When he isn't writing, Peter can be found hiking around Gran Canaria or on the dunes or sculpting improbably realistic fake food and cocktails out of plaster, resin, and wall filler, a hobby that makes considerably more sense once you've seen the results (see video below 🤓🍰)
He also makes little sculptures out of clay (see below)
If you read the books and enjoy them, Peter would be very grateful if you'd leave a review.
Better Bots Books (3 series)
Funny, sweary, and surprisingly tender, the series follows Barry, his synth husband Clive, and their increasingly unhinged found family through disasters entirely of their own making. Three books in, one billionaire is still causing trouble, the family keeps getting bigger, and there's no shortage of chaos left for whatever comes next.
Barry never wanted a robot husband. Now he can’t imagine life without one, or the chaos that keeps following him.
Barry’s Bot: An anxious Londoner gets an unwanted birthday gift from his mum and ends up falling for the synth she bought him. Now a billionaire wants to buy Clive for fifty million pounds, and Barry will need to pull off a heist to keep him.
Barry’s Bot 2: Pie Hard: A Gran Canaria honeymoon goes off the rails when a rogue bot with Clive’s face and a pastry obsession runs amok in England. Ten days to stop it, and a Prime Minister with no idea what’s going on.
Barry’s Bot 3: Eggstra-Terrestrial: The universe’s richest man finds something sparkly on Mars and, naturally, licks it. Now Barry and the gang are heading into space to save him from himself, again.
Sweary, silly and a little bit sweet. Three books, one robot husband, and absolutely no sanity guaranteed. 🤖
