2023: Jointly secured a $ 130,500 collaborative research grant from the Semiconductor Research Corporation, Logic & Memory Devices (LMD) as co-author on the grant proposal, awarded to Zafer Mutlu (University of Arizona), and Michael F. Crommie (UC Berkeley). Title: Smarter Nanoelectronics with Atomically Precise Graphene Nanoribbons.

2022: Jointly secured $ 300,000 collaborative research grant #2204252 from the US National Science Foundation as co-author on the grant proposal, awarded to Michael F. Crommie (UC Berkeley) and Colin Nuckolls (Columbia University)). Title: Collaborative Research: Tuning Graphene Nanoribbon Properties with Non-hexagonal Rings.

2019: Awarded a € 130,000 Rubicon research grant 019.182EN.18 (Postdoc position at University of California, Berkeley), awarded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO). Title: Manipulating electron spins in topological graphene nanoribbons.

2018: Awarded the € 1,000 NEVAC prize (best journal article), awarded by the Dutch vacuum society (NEVAC). Dutch title: Tunneldiodes en metaal-halfgeleiderverbindingen van grafeen-nanodraden.
