About Me

I have a B.S. in Aquatic Science from the University of Texas, and a valid teaching certificate in both biological and life sciences.  I am an enthusiastic teacher with 25 years of teaching experience, which includes MYP science, MYP design technology, NGSS MS Science, IBDP Biology, IGCSE Biology, AP biology; IB chemistry, Cambridge Science, science research and design in biology and environmental science; aquatic science; integrated science; and life/earth science. In addition to my academic teaching responsibility, I have leadership experience including HoD of Science, school-wide Google Admin, technology integrator, and secondary software manager. 

My curriculum is very rich in the use of technology both in and out of the classroom; which includes the integration of the VLE: Google Classroom, interactive digital presentations, data collection and analysis via Vernier or Pasco probes, podcasting, website, and biotechnology.  Recently, I have embraced AI tools like Brisk, NoteBookLM, ChatGPT, Diffit, MagicSchool, and Wordwall to enrich my teaching practice, enhance instruction, and provide targeted feedback. These innovations allow me to meet diverse learning needs effectively, and I am excited to bring this passion for middle school education and student success to your team. Currently, I am teaching  MYP Science at Berlin Brandenburg Intenational School. Previously I was teaching NGSS Science at Jakarta Intercultural School and IBDP/IGCSE Biology and Technology Integrator (coach) in Leipzig, Germany at Leipzig International School (LIS). 

 My extracurriculars include badminton,  U14 boys and girls football team, co-sponsored rock climbing as an extracurricular activity, being certified International Award Leader, project day leader, and skateboard club sponsor.  

As an active individual, I am constantly on the go and ready to explore, travel, and experience new and exciting places; therefore, I welcome the opportunity to work and live in a new country from which I will gain countless memories and continue to grow on a professional level.  My hobbies include travel, hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding, camping, canoeing, soccer, home remodeling, computers, and any outdoor adventure.   What can I say, I love the outdoors!
