In April 2015 I presented my 1100-page standard work on the demographic history of Vlissingen entitled Vissers, Kapers, Arbeiders (Fishermen, Privateers, Laborers). From the beginning, many people wanted to have a summary of this very extensive history in a booklet that could be read quickly – within 20 minutes – which tells the history of this special city on the Scheldt and the North Sea in broad strokes.
