With the mask focusing on Hades I wanted to focus more on his status as a god of wealth rather than the king of the underworld. For his trim and little side jewels I wanted to show that richness and opulence. In the myth about him and Persephone he opens up the ground, so I used the gold kintsugi lines as my interpretation of that. I chose to paint the whole mask a black that has a slight shine to it because black is associated with death and the underground aspect of the underworld. One of his main symbols that is simple is the bident that he has. I painted that on and again made it very sparkly and shiny because of the wealth aspect. Due to his domain also being over darkness I wanted that to reflect with the eyes so I used the black lace and tule to make it very obscure for anyone looking in but clear for those wearing the mask.
