We are a café serving nutritious foods, juices and smoothies in downtown Columbia.
We are dedicated to serving our community organic and unprocessed food we make from scratch. Our entire menu is free from gluten, soy, refined sugars, preservatives and inflammatory oils.
We are invested in nourishing our community.
We are Nourish Café + Market.
Co-owners Kimber Dean and Kalle Lemone met through yoga class. One day, Kimber offered Kalle a sample of her homemade healthy chocolate, and that moment planted the seed of what would become Nourish.
Kimber trained as a chef at the California Culinary Academy, and Kalle got her MBA at Columbia College. A few months after the two shared chocolate in the yoga studio parking lot, Kalle messaged Kimber on Facebook. She was interested in opening a locally-sourced, healthy restaurant.
The two met up at a coffee shop and began brainstorming their restaurant. Over the next ten months, they renovated a space downtown, taste-tested and developed their concept for their restaurant. Finally, in 2016, Nourish Café + Market opened its doors to serve the Columbia community organic, nutrient-rich food.

Elly Laliberte is a shift manager at Nourish Café + Market. She helps other Nourish employees take orders, make food and keep the café clean for customers. Elly was drawn to Nourish’s healthy culture and community feel.
“Nourish has this message of making you the best version of itself through food, and I think that’s something the owners care about and instill in all their employees and customers,” Elly said. “They bring those values beyond the food and into the environment and customers themselves.”
Elly said Nourish’s culture makes her work fun. Nourish doesn’t feel like a job, but instead it feels like a place she enjoys to work at. Elly plans to continue working at Nourish while she attends the University of Missouri for the next three years.
Ali Murphy takes orders and helps prepare Nourish’s delicious smoothies, drinks and food. She began working at Nourish because of its positive atmosphere and location in downtown Columbia. She said the lighting and clean design inside of the café give it an inviting feel.
“The atmosphere here is really great and everyone is nice,” Ali said. “I think that [kindness] goes with healthy eating.”
Ali tries to extend this kindness to customers, and she likes that customers treat her and each other nicely. She enjoys Nourish's supportive culture where everyone wants everyone else to be happy and healthy.
We created a scholarship called Nourish COMO for people who have other expenses and cannot prioritize buying organic food. Recipients of our scholarship are given a $50 token to buy healthy food at the Columbia Farmer’s Market. They continue to receive tokens each week as long as we receive enough donations to fund the scholarship.

A juice cleanse is when someone’s diet consists mainly of juices and fluids for a short period of time. Our cleanses allow your digestive system to take a break and they reduce inflammation. All of our juices are homemade from fresh produce with high nutrient values.
We take great care to ensure our juice cleanses are safe and helpful. We do not recommend juice cleanses as a consistent diet, but instead as a temporary reset for your body. For this reason, our juice cleanse schedule lasts between one and three days, and then people are expected to return to a normal diet. We fortify our juices with a variety of different nutrients. Finally, we consult with all of our juice cleanse customers before they begin a plan to determine if a cleanse is best for their body.
Disclaimer: Please consult your physician before beginning any cleanses or diets.
All of our suppliers are local farms, so we visit the farms before we begin purchasing their products. We make sure their farming techniques align with our values of organic and sustainable food. We periodically return to inspect their practices even after we begin working with them.
