Welcome to PetChef. We value your privacy and believe in a "local-first" approach. This Privacy Policy explains how our application handles your data. Currently, PetChef operates entirely on your device and does not collect or transmit your personal data to our servers.

2. DATA WE COLLECT (LOCAL ONLY)

The following information is collected and stored EXCLUSIVELY on your mobile device. We do not have access to this data:

A. Personal Information:

- Email address and Name: Used for local profile identification. This data is stored in your device's local storage and is not transmitted to any external server.

B. Pet Information:

To provide personalized nutritional advice, you may provide details about your pets:

- Name, species, breed, age, weight, and activity level.

- Medical conditions, allergies, and dietary goals.

This data stays on your device in a local database.

C. Media:

- Pet Photos: If you upload a pet photo, it is stored locally on your device. We do not upload these photos to any cloud service.

D. Usage Data:

- Chat History and Meal Plans: Your interactions with the AI assistant and your pet's meal plans are saved locally to provide a personalized experience.

3. NO DATA TRANSMISSION

As of the current version:

- We do not use any cloud authentication (like Firebase).

- We do not have a backend server that stores your personal or pet information.

- No personal data is sold, rented, or shared with third parties.

4. AI PROCESSING

The AI features in this app (Recipe Generation and Chat) are designed to function using local rules and logic on your device. If you have not configured external AI API keys, no data is sent to external AI providers.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The current version of the app does not use any third-party cloud services for data storage or user tracking.

6. PERMISSIONS

The app may request the following permissions for local functionality only:

- Camera/Gallery: To allow you to add photos to your pet's local profile.

- Internet Access: Included for potential future updates, but currently not used to transmit user data.

7. DATA SECURITY AND RETENTION

Because your data is stored locally:

- You are in control of your data.

- Clearing the app's cache or data in your device settings will permanently delete all your information (accounts, pets, recipes).

- Deleting the app will also remove all associated data from your device.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

PetChef does not collect any personal information from children (or anyone else) on its servers.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy in the future if we implement cloud features (such as Firebase Authentication or Cloud Sync). We will update the "Last Updated" date and notify users through the app if such changes occur.
