German cockroaches, typically small and brown, reproduce rapidly, laying about 400 eggs every 4–6 weeks. Even the presence of one German cockroach suggests a high likelihood of infestation.
These roaches also harbour numerous diseases on their legs, transferring germs to surfaces and food sources as they move. Such illnesses include food poisoning, diarrhoea, dysentery, and gastroenteritis, among others.
