Introduction

Welcome to Persuasive Writing. May name is Bethany Lucas, and I will be your instructor for this course. This course is a seven day unit that will be delivered completely online. This unit will be done asynchronously, which means you can complete the tasks at your own pace as long as assignments are completed by the due date/time. The first course module opens Monday, May 1st at 8 a.m., and the last module closes Tuesday, May 9th at midnight. Each day's assignments are due by 9:00 PM the same day.

The focus of this unit is organizing persuasive writing; however, we will complete the steps of the writing process in doing so. You can reach me via email at lucas.bbml@gmail.com if you have any questions. I will respond within 24 hours. Use the tabs on the front page of the website to get you to the lessons and activities. I think you will enjoy the course. Let me know how I can help you. Now let's get started!

You will need to use Google Drive for several of the assignments in this class. Please make sure you set up your Google account. It is free. Please remember this is online, so you need to be good digital citizens. Do not insult your classmates; be positive. Be sure to cite sources if you use sources for your writing or any other assignments. Plagiarism is serious and can result in academic and behavioral consequences. Use MLA format for citing sources; your Google Doc has a citation generator you may use.

Grades: Each assignment is assigned a point value with a total of 200 possible points being earned for this course. Grades will be calculated as follows (points earned/points possible).
