Does censorship violate freedom of speech and expression?
How has censorship evolved over time?
In this project, students will select a book to read independently that has been banned at some point in the past. By reading these books and conducting research, students will explore the role of censorship in our society.
Through their reading and research, students will explore the following questions:
Where, when, and why was this book banned?
To what extent should this book be censored for certain audiences?
What is the importance of this book for high school students?
Find your inspiration. You can do that by asking yourself these questions on:
What is it that I am interested to explore?
Is censorship necessary for the functioning of our society?
Does censorship hamper creativity?
