Personal interest and inspiration
Since I was a child, I always had the dream to live in a perfect world and wished that all humanity could have a better place to live in different from reality. This feeling is not random and must have been growing inside me as I have been born in a humanitarian family. My father has been working in the humanitarian field for 23 years and even since I was a little child, I have watched what he is doing and asked myself many times why he has to leave his family and go to dangerous places where there is war. In fact, he was always my inspiration and role model, he works for an invaluable cause to help vulnerable people to get the minimum basic in life “food” which is a right for everyone on Earth. The world today is not the one I had in my dream, on the contrary it is full of hate, discrimination and social injustice. These facts have inspired me to be determined to make a positive change to the world no matter how small this could be.
Photos of the process
I tried creating the book cover digitally and did not like it so I decided to hand draw the book cover to unify the book.
Timeline of the project and process
The most challenging part of my project:
The most challenging part of my project was creating the book since I have never written or designed a book and I did not have any experience with it. Creating the book was challenging, however I now have experience and know much more about the factors and elements that make a poetry book.
My advice to the current grade 9 regarding personal project
My advice is to always manage your time, use calendars, planners, reminders and any other way available to manage your time. Divide the tasks for each day and always meet the deadlines. Meeting the deadline is very important to keep track or your work and not fall behind or be pressured and stressed out. My second piece of advice is to always be organized and have a clean space where you can work and focus and always motivate yourself to keep working towards your goal.
