Principal Investigator

Barış Sevi, PhD

Dr. Sevi is an Assistant Professor at MEF University, Department of Psychology. He received his bachelor’s degree from Bilkent University. Then he received a master’s degree on Social/Organizational Psychology from Koç University and a master’s degree on Behavioral Neuroscience from West Virginia University. He received his PhD degree in Social Psychology from the University of Connecticut. In his postdoctoral work he worked at Ohio University and also was a visiting scholar at the University of Texas at Austin.

Research Assistants

Çiğdem Akgül, BA

Çiğdem is a master’s student in Psychology at MEF University, where she also completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Her academic interests lie primarily in social psychology. She currently works as a research assistant on a TÜBİTAK project focusing on the behavioral immune system and conducting her master’s thesis on sustainable practices.

Umay San

Umay San is a third-year Psychology student at MEF University. She is currently serving as a team leader in the “Ders Ortağım” project, which aims to provide equal educational opportunities for visually impaired high school and university students under the umbrella of MEF University. Academically, she is interested in the fields of forensic, social, and clinical psychology. Her research interests include the role of disgust sensitivity in criminal behavior and the relationship between personality traits and risky health behaviors.

Eda Saygın

Eda is a third-year Psychology student at MEF University, also pursuing a minor in Management. She previously served as a volunteer co-coordinator in the Güzel Günler Ajandası Project, working with children with autism. Currently, she is working as an assistant psychologist at a private mental health clinic. Her main areas of interest are Developmental Psychology and Clinical Psychology, with a particular focus on the effects of stress and severe chronic illnesses on individuals’ psychological processes.
