Megan’s work broadly utilizes EMA to examine predictors and consequences of substance use. She is particularly interested in negative reinforcement models of substance use as they unfold in daily life and understanding why individuals may drink or use substances in response to negative affect in some circumstances, but not others. To this end, she is especially interested in examining emotion regulation strategies in daily life, such as rumination, as possible explanations for this association. She is currently completing her internship year at the Harry S. Truman VA Medical Center in Columbia, MO.
